Early Music play-along tracks for recorder players

Have you ever wanted to play a large consort piece, but simply didn’t have enough players?

Join the Consort lets you step into the missing chair.

Here you’ll find carefully prepared practice and play-along tracks for Early Music written for ensembles of four to sixteen recorders. Choose your part, play it yourself, and let the other voices form the consort around you.

The accompanying parts are produced with high-quality digital recorder instruments. They are not presented as a substitute for a real recorder consort, but as a practical way to explore, practise and enjoy repertoire that might otherwise be difficult to play at home.

The tracks are prepared with attention to phrasing, articulation, balance and the character of the individual voices. My aim is not simply to reproduce the notes, but to create a musically useful ensemble that you can join with your own instrument.

Whether you want to practise an individual part, prepare for a rehearsal, explore unfamiliar repertoire, or finally experience what it is like to sit inside a large polyphonic consort:

Choose your part. Pick up your recorder. Join the consort.
